Africa Coordinating Centre for the Abandonment of FGM/C
Established in 2012, the Africa Coordinating Centre for the Abandonment of FGM/C (ACCAF) aims to strengthen the capacity for and coordination of research and implementation of evidence-based practices and strategies for the abandonment of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) in Africa and beyond within one generation. Hosted by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the College of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi, ACCAF provides a multi-disciplinary approach to champion efforts and address the gaps in the abandonment of FGM/C view a towards sustaining women’s health and dignity.
