ACCAF together with the Africa Led Movement (ALM) is advancing gender equality, women and girls empowerment, and reproductive rights, including for the most vulnerable and marginalized women adolescents and youth. One of the activities as an implementing partner is advocating for the integration of FGM content into health-related training programmes.
The initiative aims to incorporate comprehensive content on ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) into the curricula of health training programs offered by health training institutions within the Kenya. This integration intends to raise awareness among future healthcare professionals about the harmful practice of FGM and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to address it effectively. By mainstreaming such content, these institutions hope to contribute to the eradication of FGM by empowering healthcare providers to play an active role in prevention, education, and support for affected individuals.
